A reminder we will be getting together at noon this Friday, June 8, to finish up the mulching. Anyone who would like to help should come to the Chamber, 205 West Center, at noon. I have a few pairs of gloves, but you'll probably want to bring your own gloves; maybe a metal rake and a utility knife to open the bags of mulch. Again, we actually have a lot of fun doing these beautification projects!
NEW! Jody Lackey, of Candy Shack, knows as with many business owners, they can't leave their store to help with these beautification projects. So, she's going to help by giving everyone who is helping with the mulch a half-price meal with a free scoop of Riverside Ice Cream on Friday!!! Thanks so much, Jody! Count me in for some half-price chicken salad ... and will you have mint chocolate chip Friday?
Also on this weekend on Saturday, June 9, APEX Church will be continuing with their Paint the Town project. If you'd like to be a part of this, just come by the church's Activity's Center, 162 West Center Street, at 9:00 a.m.

Come Downtown to dinner this weekend and check out what all we've been working on. There's more to do, but we plan to keep working on keeping it in tip top shape! You can sit outside (or inside) at Baires Friday evening, there's Infinity in the Harding Hotel and The Warehouse. The Candy Shack and Cafe' is open Saturday afternoon ... so if you're downtown shopping, stop in for ice cream! Or if you're just coming down to take a walk, stop into Downtown Pizza and either eat in or take a pizza & salad home!

We have another Cash Mob this Monday, June 11. Just meet in the stone parking lot behind Epworth Church (it's actually along Church Street) about 5:15 or 5:30 and we'll proceed to the selected store. The after party will be at The Warehouse, 320 West Center Street ... just go anytime after 6 p.m. You can go to one or both events. We just ask that you spend at least $10 in the mob store and make a purchase at the after party. By doing this, you are investing in the future of our community ... and having fun doing it!! I've attached a flyer outlining our Cash Mob schedule ... please print it out and share it with those in your office, put it on Facebook, and if you know how to Twitter (I don't), send out a Tweet or two ... and then come!

Celebrate Summer will be once again be held on Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. here in Downtown Marion. I've attached the news release with all of the details, and I'll have more information as the time grows closer. In short, however, you can still be a part of it if you are an artist or fine crafter, would like to set up a food booth, or have a pre-1950 vehicle you'd like to showcase. If you're interested, just give me a call!
